Welcome to this week’s Northern Soul Podcast.

This week Lucy McNamara chats to BrouHaHa, a Manchester-based band and self-confessed big, brassy pop mayhem. You may have been lucky enough to see this seven-piece collective at last year’s Ramsbottom Festival or gigging around the city – and so have heard their upbeat tunes which mix in Ska’esque undertones and 90s alternative-pop melodies.

Also on Lucy’s playlist this week are, among others, Half Moon Run, King Charles, Honeyfeet and Kraftwerk.

Lucy McNamara was the producer and presenter of The Northern Soul Podcast. A freelance radio presenter, podcaster and voiceover artist, Lucy was the Weekend Breakfast presenter at 2BR, Lancashire’s local commercial station. Lucy started out as a journalist more than a decade ago and has worked for BBC Radio Leicester, Norfolk, Cambridge and Stoke, presenting, news reading and reporting. Prior to 2BR she was BBC 6 Music’s regular cover for the music news on Radcliffe & Maconie. During her time at 6 Music she presented the music news on the Shaun Keaveny breakfast show and has assistant-produced for Guy Garvey and Marc Riley.
