In his first solo exhibition in the North of England since 2007, Dan Baldwin is coming to RedHouse Gallery in Harrogate.
Baldwin, who is collected by the likes of Damien Hirst, Sir Peter Blake and Gilbert & George, will present The Pursuit Of Happiness. According to Baldwin, the collection focuses on “how painting and colour – along with nature – have been a healing factor over the last four years”, with a return to nature functioning as a form of therapy.
“I think in terms of colour before I’m thinking about composition, most artists are the other way round I’d say. In the last few years, I’ve found great peace and healing through nature. I’ve been discovering ancient footpaths, hiking the South Downs Way and the North Cornish coastline, building a garden, planting and nurturing it, and painting daily.”
The Pursuit of Happiness is at RedHouse Gallery, 15 Cheltenham Mount, Harrogate from August 3, 2024. For more information, click here.
