Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside. At Northern Soul, we’re huge fans of all things coastal including these vintage posters from the golden age of travel that are due to go on display at Scarborough’s Woodend.
Dating from the 1910s to the 1960s, the posters in Scarborough: A Day at the Seaside were issued by then-Scarborough Corporation’s tourism department, and by rail companies operating in the area. The prints in the exhibition are all taken from the 200-plus original posters held in the Scarborough Collections, cared for by Scarborough Museums Trust. Limited edition prints of the posters on display will be available to buy.
