Oooh, I do like a good do. And so it was that Northern Soul ‘officially’ launched to an unsuspecting public last month.
The site is still less than six months old (a wee bairn) but it’s going great guns and we wanted to spread the love.
It was a top notch night thanks to all the wonderful people who gave so freely of their time and energy. A major shout-out must go to Alison Bell and Kate Hesketh of Hesketh & Bell (events@heskethandbell.com) who, as party organisers, did a stupendous job and were wonderful at calming the nerves of a very nervous Northern Soul editor. And special thanks to Blitz Communications (www.blitzcommunications.co.uk) for the A/V equipment. You guys were awesome.
But what’s a party without a great venue? Kosmonaut (kosmonaut.co) in Manchester’s Northern Quarter was the perfect place to go proper public with Northern Soul, especially as the super-talented Pasta Paul was spinning the discs throughout the evening.
Taking the pics you can see below was Craige Barker (www.crashfoto.com), and lending an invaluable IT hand was Simon Belt from Simply Better IT (www.sb-it.co.uk).
And Chef Tony, Chef Tony. Thank you so much for the incredible canapes; they were so good they were all gone before I even got a sniff of one.
Lastly, but not leastly, many, many thanks to the Northern Soul writers, multimedia specialists and photographers. The site would be nowt without you.
